take after和look like是同义词组，但还是有区别的。

take after指在相貌、体格、性情等方面像，尤指像父母、长辈等；

look like可用于所有场合，看起来像…，看上去像，可指人也可指物。

take after

(在相貌、体格、性情等方面)像(父、母等)；与…相像；

追赶；追捕；追逐；

仿效；学…的榜样。
